Classes & Skills

Celtic Heroes features five distinct classes, each filling a unique role in group play:

You earn skill points as you level and invest them in class‑specific abilities. Energy management is key – high level skills require more energy, so invest in energy regeneration items or potions for sustained combat.

Armor & Weapon Questlines

The quest armor series takes you from mid‑game all the way to end‑game. Each tier requires collecting drops from specific bosses and turning in your previous tier item along with the new materials. The sets progress through:

  1. Warden (level 60+) – farm Stonevale bosses for discs (Sun, Moon, Oak, Elm, Crown, Dragon) to craft Bloodstrike/Greythorn/Loremantle/etc. armor pieces.
  2. Meteoric (level 80+) – upgrade Warden gear using class‑coloured Remnants and Tablets plus Meteoric Crystals; materials drop from Shalemont and Stonevale bosses.
  3. Frozen (level 110+) – combine Meteoric gear with Crests (Serpent, Hound, Hawk, Stag, Bear, Lion) and Orbs from Otherworld bosses.
  4. Dragonlord (level 150+) – trade Frozen pieces plus ritual items (Gems, Eggs, Urns, Idols, Horns, Crowns) obtained from Carrowmore bosses like Glashtyn, Ulrob, Sreng and Snorri.
  5. Exalted Dragonlord (level 180+) – upgrade Dragonlord gear using drops from Gelebron's Tower prime bosses. These pieces preserve your Dragonlord aura while improving stats.
  6. Doch Gul (Mythic) (level 220+) – the final upgrade unlocked after Exalted Dragonlord; collected from end‑game raids in Gelebron’s Tower. Mythic armor sacrifices some armor for massive damage and stat bonuses.

These questlines are long but rewarding – they define your character’s gear progression from level 60 through the end game.

Bosses & Spawn Timers

Bosses range from minor 1★ elites to 6★ raid monsters. Early bosses like Fellfire, Chillmist, Starspell, Spirehoof and Falgren drop Warden discs. Mid‑tier bosses in Shalemont and Otherworld drop Remnants, Tablets and Crests for later armor tiers.

Raid bosses require coordinated groups or clans. Major raid targets include:

Normal bosses respawn anywhere from minutes to a few hours. Raid bosses have longer windows: historically 24–72 hours, though events occasionally shorten them. Official events sometimes halve end‑game boss respawn times or run special carnage weekends.

Fishing

Fishing is a relaxing gathering skill that lets you catch fish and find treasure while exploring Dal Riata. To begin, head to the eastern docks of Lir’s Reach and speak to the Fisherman NPC there to receive your first fishing rod and bait. As your Fishing ability increases, new fishing spots and higher‑level fish become available. Recommended progression:

Use Knowledge Elixirs to double your fishing XP; the timer only counts down while you’re actively fishing. Occasionally, you’ll haul up Treasure Chests containing gold, platinum, elixirs and Noden Tokens. These bronze, silver and gold tokens can be exchanged for unique fishing fashion items.

Cooking

Cooking lets you craft food that restores health or energy and grants temporary buffs. Two stats govern cooking: Proficiency (reduces chance to burn dishes) and Mastery (increases chance for Exquisite or Perfected dishes).

Use extracts to guarantee success on high‑level recipes: Garnet for level 0‑30, Emerald for 30‑60, Sapphire for 60‑90, Ruby for 90‑120 and Crystal for 120+. Spices like basil, pepper, mint, dill and coriander are sold at fishing hubs and improve certain recipes.

Recipes progress from simple breads and soups to high‑level banquets that restore hundreds of health/energy. Perfected dishes give the strongest heals and longest buff durations. Cooking pairs well with fishing, as many recipes use fish as ingredients.

Leveling Guides

There are two main ways to level: following quests and storylines, or “lixing” (grinding with XP elixirs). Questing provides structure and introduces each zone’s lore; grinding yields faster XP if done efficiently. Tips:

Zone progression roughly follows: Lir’s Reach (1–20), Shalemont Ravine (20–60), Stonevale (50–100), the Otherworld (80–130+), Carrowmore Tunnels/Murky Vaults (120–180), Gelebron’s Tower (180–220) and Corrupted Gardens/Valley of the Ancients (200+).

Valley of the Ancients

The Valley of the Ancients (VOA) is the newest high‑level zone, aimed at players level 210 and above. You must complete the “Mortal Intervention” quest in the Corrupted Gardens to open the portal near the Gardens’ leystone. The zone introduces the Hiddenfolk faction and a new quest line.

VOA contains powerful mini‑bosses and daily/weekly quests, but currently no permanent raid boss. Expect mobs in the 220–240 range and bring friends – the zone is challenging. Recent patches have focused on improving VOA stability and fixing quest markers for NPCs.

A new test boss, Crom’s Hellborne Manikin, was introduced in 2025 for beta testing in the northern arena of VOA. During beta, the boss respawned every 15 minutes and all end‑game bosses had 10‑minute respawns for testing. Keep an eye on official announcements for future legacy and carnage events.

Maps & Locations

Dal Riata consists of many interconnected zones linked by leystones. Key areas include:

Legacy Bosses & Spawn Hubs

Legacy bosses are event bosses from past Samhain, Yule, Beltane or Ostara events that now spawn randomly across Dal Riata. Their spawn points aren’t fixed like regular bosses – they rotate and can appear in new and old locations.

Based on community tracking, legacy bosses tend to appear in level‑appropriate “spawn hubs”:

Each legacy boss retains its original loot table, so you may find event fashion, weapons or jewelry. Spawn windows are random; check community discord channels or timer apps to hunt them efficiently.
